Current Programs
Mai Bal Sadan
According to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), between April 2020 and June 5, 2021, at least 1,50,000 children in India became orphans or lost one parent. This alarming situation highlights the urgent need for collective efforts to protect and support vulnerable children.
Under our Child Welfare Program, we run ‘Mai Bal Sadan’, a residential boys’ hostel located at Wakadi Village, Taluka Panvel, District Raigad. The centre provides care and support to boys between the ages of 6 and 18 years, particularly children of blind and divyang parents, single-parent families, and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Our mission is to provide these children a safe and nurturing environment, instill strong moral values, and ensure access to quality education so they can grow into confident, responsible, and self-reliant individuals.
Project Shiksha
School dropout rates in rural areas remain high due to various social and economic challenges. Bringing children from these areas into the mainstream of education is a highly demanding task that requires continuous efforts from all stakeholders.
Under our Project Shiksha, we are committed to fostering interest in education among children by providing essential educational materials to students from rural and remote areas of Thane and Palghar districts. Through these efforts, we aim to ensure that children remain engaged in the mainstream education system.
So far, over 2000 students have benefited from study materials and school bags, helping them continue their education with confidence and enthusiasm.
Project Swayamprabha
In 2021, women’s participation in the labour force in India was only 23%, one of the lowest rates in the world and far below the global average of 47%.
Through Project – Swayamprabha, our organization remains strongly committed to promoting women’s empowerment. To support marginalized women in society, we have organized various livelihood workshops and skill-development programs. Several self-help groups have participated in activities such as napkin bouquet making, toran making, pendant making, cloth designing, and other income-generating crafts, helping women move toward financial independence and self-confidence.
